XP watch... done :) 588MB later and 6 evenings damn I sure as hell hope it doesn't have any major errors.

Spent yesterday reading more through of lia's archives and stumbled over, through some links I found interesting.Neil Gaiman one of the premier comic writers of the late 80's early 90's has a interesting weblog with some insightful commentary on fame... Now this is a website after my heart The Freak Site
My score:
Need to be unique: 49%
Need to NOT conform: 93%
Willingness to express dissent: 50%
Overall: 64%
Yup need NOT to conform definately sounds a lot like me. You think? Need a alternative to blogger try moveable type. Yeash I'm still only up to the end of Sept... I really want to know what happens w Dragon lady hehe.

I love reading commentary on the state of computer industry or visionary thoughts on it so this from Evhead fit in nicely thank you and is now a must read. Two really cool essays that are a must read for the net generation End to End explains well what became known as TCP, UDP :) The other is a Essay on the problem with telco's TV connectivity in general.

Saturday night no pt. 2 for the brawls... actually the band sounded a lot better... No I wasn't blasted either. They decided to switch lead singers thank gawd New guy didn't sing through his nose... so tolerable. 'nother bonus at least the songs were a mixed up ie. not a whole set of Seger or CCR. Post bar pinball, drink... drink... go party a while at Jade's till she kicks us out drink... eep well 5:30am drive home. One nice thing about a small town police all off duty after 5am till 7am. SHHHH! that's a secret! hehe.

Sunday new day, minor hangover have to DJ a hockey game cool. Eddie Shack, Marcel Dionne are in town to play a game, Fort St. James Firefighters vs Prince George Regional Correctional Center. Home team gets Dionne... needless to say Home team wins, 5 goals from Dionne kinda helped I'd say. The Forts first line was awesome Hassman 2 goals, Saharchuk 2 goals, Dionne 5 goals. They scored at will and were like watching the Soviets of yore with stickhandling and skating, just incredible skill. Final score FSJ 11, PG 7. Fans leave happy. I had hardly anything to do as Eddie Shack was refree.. with a microphone and didn't want music played after each whistle, he wanted to talk "Get the fans going"... Hey fine by me. I get paid to watch the game, play a few tunes during intermissions grin. Twas a good day all in all.

XP watch 68% 18 hrs to go...

Well what do you know a Friday night and I don't have to work... so go to enjoy a band playing at the Zoo and yeash They suck I get there at around midnight and the only thing I hear is CCR covers Seger Covers, all sang by a guy who can't sing for sour apples... The least you can do is find for a lead singer who doesn't sing through their nose a la Willie Nelson. Even Robert at his worst, during the early college days never sang through his nose. Needless to say the locals loved em Gawd what's the world coming to. One good thing about really lousy music; attitude adjustment needed... So I procceeded to slam beer hic play pinball and wait for the extracircular activities to start.. I wasn't disappointed. Cat fight and then another minor scuffle... ahhh the joys of lousy music played brutally. Can't wait for tommorrow Pt. 2 possibly :)

Sigh! modem sucks, dreams of broadband access, this weeks project dl win xp 57hrs to go... tired of Crash! besides if I'm going to put in a nice new 80gig drive might as well have a new OS too... 3 days later 37hrs to go, thank god for resume.

Note to self... Grand funk railroad - Were an American Band WEG hehehe /WEG. Drinking on a Wednesday... free pool, partying... I sucked at pool today... oh well could be worse. On the Duh!! side of things; revelation ohh... it finally clicked as to what blog means... hehe we"b log" Oh well I suppose it could have been worse after all it wasn't a high priority to figure out what the hell that meant.

A Couple more notes on the Nickelback concert. The Booms! were called Concussion Bombs, an apt name if I do say so myself. Leader of Men is a song about Magic Mushrooms whoo hoo! As for more about the concert... Um well It rocked! Check 'em out dl a song or 3, hell download/buy the album(s).

Reading through lia's weblog yesterday. I am rather impressed with her command of the written word. I suppose she should be able to write being a English Major... but then again just being a English major doesn't give one artistic license. Thought, opinion and observation three good ingredients for interesting reading.
I did find some interesting stuff political compass hmm I find I'm about as middle of the road as one can get left/right -0.50, authoritarian/libertarian -1.74 I suppose those diplomatic skills are well intact :) I'm only up to June last year will finish reading it tonight er maybe not seeing as it's Friday and the official party day of Fort St. James. Seeing as I'm the official party hound well... Hair straight back :)

Hottest concert ticket at the moment... Nickelback nod, nod, Yup gee I wonder why #4 album in North America "Silver Side Up", #1 Song in North America first time #1 in both Canada and the US at the same time "This is How You Remind Me" Way cool the guys from Vancouver are doing well! Do the 100 mile trek to PG in a blizzard naturally had 2 tickets... no one wanted to go... oh well their loss hehe! Show up missed the backup... Default oh well 2 songs I would have liked to have see "Wasting Time and Deny" no matter... Nickelback hit the stage at around 9pm and procceed to rock the Multiplex big time. 90 minutes of hit after hit way cool. Some of the highlight songs: Too Bad, Old Enough, Leader of Men, This is How You Remind Me, and a new unrecorded song that is tentatively titled "Next C" damn I can't remember I know it started with a C though hehe. The light show was worth the price of admission itself... whee pyrotechnics not that I've seen too many pyro shows, but 4 x 30-35 ft flames are pretty goddamn impressive. Then there were the well placed BOOMS! a la AC/DC's cannons cept without the cannons :) The wall of Marshall Guitar Amps at the back of the stage certainly added some sound too! The light and pyro show impressed me nuff to go down and talk to Chris the guy running it get his card and find out that the show had approx $600K worth of lights and pyro cool tried to get a playlist but no such luck... woulda been a cool souviner <-- sp dammit how do you spell that, where's my dictionary when I need it The show game me some cool ideas for light show in the Zoo and I have a good contact :) All in all one of the top 10 shows I've seen... guess I really should buy the album :) Drive back still in the blizzard and uneventful at 40-70mph cept a cow moose at the top of 12mile hill, good thing she was well off to the side.

Well as I write this I'm Wasted so due to the fact that I'm allowed too.... do pretty much anything I want here... I'll say this now. Anything I do post I'll leave up here no matter how goddamn embarrassing it may be at the moment I'm sure cuz bearman or Mr Wonder chicken has something equally as... so it stays! This weekend marks the end of a era... scabaret er cabaret has closed down... guess that 1-2k coin in 1hr just didn't cut it... no matter I was moved a entire 100 yards from a glass enclosed hell to... Da ZOO!!! with the room to move around... play pool, pinball, dance umm there's probably a whole new subject there, but suffice to say DANCE - Queen city kids.... circa 82 she's gonna shake it some more, girl dance....., give the finger to the bouncers hehe and generally make a ass of myself... am I really sad it closed down.... in a word "Nope"

New train of thought... Collin, myself and Tanya were drinking...surprise, surprise and I suggested something about my thoughts of true love... um to the effect of trust, and it must be reciprocated otherwise... well you get the point. Anyhow after some drunken nodding I figured hmmm this must be a important point so... figured I better get it written down somewhere lest it becomes totally lost... something like the night Chris, Barry, Roddy, I,... damn who else was it... proved the exsistance of a god... life is determined vs free will... damn that was a lot of RR and one helluva deep conversation, over the years I've tried to recall it... no luck... hehehe you 2? er 3 like Roddy will ever see this page... well I can hope :)

Read a item that might be of relevance still to mister Kovacs.... Koreans love spam!?!? like the luncheon meat, pork shoulders and all, hehe not a very reliable source "Uncle John's Bathroom reader" from a few years ago at least. I dunno personally I don't think I've managed to down any of that for a good few years... fried spam sandwiches, smothered in ketchup and mustard and a slice o proccessed cheese mmm may have to make a few of those today!

Legendary parties that I almost remember pt. 3
3. Whoa these 2 are harsh but hey I'm afraid if i don't mention em now they will probably never ever be mentioned... mushroom party to say the honest to god truth, um yup I was severely fucked up... 1 oz of shrooms and only 5-6 of us well... it was post closing of the Zoo don't tell Wes *hehe* I think a band had just quit and we had packed them up... but I may be mistaken... anyhow Blondie, Moe, myself, they were the important ones, Jackie, her boyfriend (now hubby)... to this day I still don't remember his name... oh wait more as the soap turns they are separated, blogggggggggg! whatever just had to throw that in there, just so I know. Um who else.... Roy, maybe not... maybe so... anyhow the big hook of the storyline was... I was so baked I couldn't even stand up for like 3hrs... I tried to play pool... nope... just would not happen... when you see 3 cue balls and are not sure which one to aim for.... well you get the picture... lots of laughing, mostly by myself, but like I cared :)

4. Damn another shroom party twas the week before christmas and all through the bar was a feeling of Joviality and kinda like wow! To this day I really feel bad for Lyle cause I think he was forced to choose between his friends and his girlfriend at the time 'Faye'.... so I put this out here just to try to ease my concience *spelling* because I know I had alot to do with it.... It's something close to Moe's birthday Dec 27.... myself, her, Faye, Norm, Collin, decide lets have a helluva good birthday party... I break out the oz or so of shrooms Faye grabs ummm how can you say it politely um toooooo many... she says "no I've done this much before" I like shake my head no not that many.... no matter she does em... so what happens.... 1/2, 3/4 of an hr later baked.... bars closing.... Moe says "you gave em to her, You look after her" gee thanks, I talk her half assed down but she doesn't want to leave the warmth of the bar and go outside...help! Enter Norm.... the both of us literally pack her out of the bar and into the truck... 'gee wonder if she is having a good trip... not' drive out to Collins all the while watching her to make sure she doesn't put us in the ditch by randomly grabbing the sterring wheel and yanking it to one side or the other.... 'no stress there' remember i'm ripped too! get too Collin's, Norm gets out as he had to hold her hands, arms most of the way out there, and I try to talk her down.... I actually succeeded for about 20-25mins then the dog jumped on her, just a friendly hiya jump.... but no matter... there was the christmas tree wipe out, the end of the hallway where she really freaked, and I'm sure it didn't help that I was peakin and could hardly move.... oh well c'est la vie. She will never talk to me again that much I'm sure and her shroom days are definately over... mine well, you have any :)

Legendary list of parties that I mostly recall pt 2 :)
ok I looked hard at this first bunch and hey nothing prior to 1990 so....
1. Barney Bentall Gin Blossom's tour btw that was without a doubt THE best album he ever put out... though the one before it with won't play house with you etc... was good too :) but anyhow the reason this particular party sticks out in my mind was .... Holly's boobs bouncing around unfettered and totally free! Ummm and the fact the my shirt was signed by the man himself... hehe o wait i'm supposed to say lol for stavros :) hehehehehehehehe *grin* then geez we procceeded to load up all his stereo ummm like 30000 watts o power, stagger around and get more blasted... life is tough... damn I have the ticket somewhere... I'll scan it just so I know what the hell year it was... um wait look on the album cover... nahhh tooo much like work :)

2. heheh um Rockfest 2001 well thursday night they decided that hey, it would be a good idea if we had a band blast from the pastumm too bad what the hell's his name died on us but hey... lead man from "Simon Kaos" fills in just fine thank you very much :) Prism rocked!! Sooo well thursday needless to say I was toast...! Friday, wake up in the tent ppl saying "ohhh you had fun, how do you feel" needless to say I felt like shit! Next thing I know Collin and Al show up kick me outta sleep, 1-2pm ish thank you for waiting a lil, throw my tent on top of my truck and inform me "You're moving over with us" I was so hung over, no resistance to moving... but all in all on helluva good idea. The couch signing :) chicks, ummmm well improvise I'm sure it's probably accurate. Saturday was sorta another recovery day but yes I did manage to listen er tolerate em all. Yup Grand Funk sucked, Doug and the Slugs are a Party band, even with a hangover or more, Sunday well that was the day I had been waiting for all weekend... Wide Mouth Mason, Colin James... Wide mouth was first and YES they lived up to my expectations... Colin James I must say blew me away, I wasn't expecting that much from him... I was pleasantly surprised.... :)

Thanks Bearman damn fine title :^)
So what happened today ummm.... it was a haircut kinda day. You realize damn it's time when it takes like a hour for your hair to dry! Decides to see just how long I normally go between haircuts and it was cut 2 days prior to a new moon... testing out a lil theory something i read ages ago. If you get your hair cut on a new moon it grows slower than if it's cut on or near a full moon... testing :) hehe this should be about as exciting as "watching the grass grow" I just noticed, how ironic is the title now. Yup this will be my great experiment of 2002, Hair straight back :)

Legendary list of parties that I mostly recall :) 1. The Hat Party hehe Lyle & Norm lived in the basement of the hindu's across the street in the early 80's. I remember more than a few parties there... anyhow some of the highlights or lowlights depending on whose reading this, Some pretty funky hats, Tequila puffs done on the coffee table turned upside-down on the kitchen floor, Brant passed out in the ditch outside, Cheryl passed out in the bathtub, da Cops outside hehe one lived across the street, copius quantities of weed, then when it was all over Norm, Robert and I jump in Norm's blue bomb and cruise off to Vancouver, so as not to have to clean up the mess!  Hehehe twas quite the week-end.
2. Van Halen 1984 Lessee get tickets to the show... ok road trip... pile in the old Sunbird... concert hmmm DING! idea rent a limo ohh yeah 1 1/2 hrs before 2 1/2 hrs after figuring out that yeah with all of us we can afford it.  Lyle J, Chris, Barry, Ken, Jeremy, Wade, Matthew, myself... were there more of us I kinda think so... too quiet I guess :) 1st stop liquor store... We double park in front of the entrance "it's a limousine we can do anything we want." remarked the driver, he was cool not much older than us and could see we were going to enjoy this. After filling the car with obscene amounts of rye (Wiesers was my poison of choice), vodka, beer, and a dollop of mix. Off we go and pick up Lydia from work somewhere along 4th ave. I think it was... from there concert time. We had great seats lol like we going to actually sit in em, 11th row on the floor.  Hehe naive us asking the usher where the hell are seats are... we actually got to em a few of us stayed there a few others ventured off towards the stage... The show ahh David lee "this isn't fucking Quiet Riot" as someone comments on his bottle of Jack Daniels and if it was real... Eddie a totally mind blowing 10-15 minute Eruption... Alex and Micheal do impressive solos as well but kinda hard to keep up with Dave's antics and Eddie's guitar god licks. post concert we are sobering up after 2 hrs ish of bouncing jostling dancing cheering and having one helluva good time. Pile back in the limo, and procceed to slam drinks like they are going outta style... open the windows bait the chicks as only drunks from the north can... tragedy we run outta weed... drive down granville gotta love the limo Matthew tries to find some... no luck... Jeremy tries... success and some hooker tags along as well. Needless to say it was a interesting couple hrs cruise Stanley Park, smoke most all that weed, get dropped off... twas a hellish good idea!
3. First A first drunk well what can I say, Roddy's house and a bottle of Rye or was it Vodka not sure... lasted from about 8ish to almost 11pm lol Juan and Brent drop me off at home I manage to stagger in the house and almost to bed, but crash on the floor.  I wake up my sister with the crash and she phones Mom and Dad in PG... I get on the phone all she says "you picked a fine time to do that" and hangs up I pass out in bed this time, my life of alcohol begins... age just turned 18.
4. Centurion Roddy's house again... there were a few there. Chris is back from 1st year University and has a great game for us hehe each of us need 1 case of beer and a shot glass. An oz of brew a minute for 100 minutes no standing up, throwing up or leaving the table. Great idea! I think Dale lasted all the way to 23 before spewing. The stopwatch continues we take turns "cheers"ing everything we can possible think of... get to 100 most made it.. lots quit. Chris informs us the UBC record is 135 uh huh no matter were out to prove we can do it. Jeremy and I last to 140 then mad rush out the door to relieve ourselves. We congratulate each other on a job well done and promptly black out! To this day I really don't know what happened after that, but it was fun.

Is it any wonder people get so upset with Micro$oft I've been trying valiantly to add some blasted links down the left side of this blog.  When lo and behold "IE has crashed" ARRRGH New year's eve 3 times had a list of legendary parties.... CRASH maybe it was new year's hehehe lil too wasted New year's eve.  Ahh i feel a little better.
Maybe XP based on 32 bit code rather than the hodgepodge of 16/32 that Win 95/98/Me has been based on since time immemorial will be more stable.  Yeah right, add the the bloody Micro$oft tracking goodies in it.... don't change that network card, oh you've made 5 mods to your computer it's not doing shit till big brother says Ok.  I'm not giving up that much control over my computer! at least not without a fight CRASH
